Caught the morning ferry from Oakland to San Francisco with nice views of the bridges and city on the way in. Dropped us at Pier 39 where we saw the sea lions, had a walk along the pier shops and ate some taffy.
We decided to hire a tandem bike to cycle across Golden Gate Bridge. Took a while to get used to, and took a couple of wrong turnings, but then we were off! Lovely bike ride along the coast, the bridge itself was pretty mad! After returning the bikes we strolled through the city, went to China town and chilled in Union Square.
Next day we drove back into SF to walk through Lands End park which had some pretty views of the bridge, then we drove through Golden Gate park to visit the stunning Japanese Tea Gardens. Before departing for Lake Tahoe, we drove to the viewpoint of the foggy city and visited the Painted Ladies.
