After Yosemite, we drove through Sequoia National Forest on the way to Bakersfield for our stop over. We stopped off to climb Moro rock, hiked to Eagle view and walked the Big Tree Trail. The size of Sequoia tree's is amazing and it's crazy to think how many years it took to gain their huge size - one had even started to grow into a boulder. Due to their size and shallow roots, the sequoia can fall down in bad weather, but the dead tree's were just as amazing as the live ones. They even turned one into a driveway, though it's collapsed a bit now.
Death Valley was amazing! I was quite excited about going (and being somewhere hot!). We walked across the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes and got our trainers full of sand! We also stopped at the Zabriske Point which was stunning, then drove to Dante's view to watch the sunset. From the top you can look down to Badwater basin which reflected the sunset beautifully!
